The third time my this past Decemberi went again coz my son pushed me into it after he read such glowing reviews. I tried a second time a year earlier and they got my order completely wrong amd I threw it away. I left the burrito uneaten, I should have given it to the homeless hanging outside but didn't want to i get them sick. The burrito had terrible Carne asada, beans were undercooked and the generic tortilla was cold. He says ' and rolls his eyes, I don't have time to make special requests just order amd take burrito as it comes' like a food i took that response.
The order taker tells me 'look at his menu and pick from that' but I say hey can't i order it special. Unusual coz Mex folks will visit good Mexican food places wherever they may be.Īnyway after waiting in line for half hour i proceeded to order oir basic fare.

The first visit it was full of locals and students, i should have been tipped off when i saw no Hispanic locals there.
When i first read all these reviews about Los Pericos i thought maybe i was going to the Heaven of Mexican food. First let me say coming from LA one gets accustomed to great Mexican food, LA County, Orange County, Inland Empire there are too many delicious Mexican places to mention. Tried this place three times and i should of learned after first visit to stay away. I used the salsa to make a mess of my burritos and kick up the flavor profile. Also, their salsa bar had such fresh tomatoes, onion, pepper, and other good stuff, my mouth is watering right now just thinking of it. Holy crap, their chips are not the thin, wimpy kinds that break everytime you go to scoop up some queso-they are extremely hearty and thick. I have to mention their chips and salsa bar. This is a great place to get burritos and I’m sure other Mexican fare. The kids ordered burritos as well, and didn’t utter a word throughout their meal and were just eating it up. Given how much they pack into the burritos, it held up well throughout it’s devourment. I have to say, they wrapped them well, in what seemed to be gigantic tortillas. My date ordered the Vegetarian Burrito and had the same response-lots of good stuff jammed into a burrito. I ordered their Super Burrito ($8) that was stuffed with chicken, rice, beans, and tons of other stuff.
So when you arrive, get your food and get cosy with the other patrons. We invited a guy to sit at our table because he was eating his burrito whilst standing right next to the garbage can. and popular, so people are constantly dining in or taking out. It is a small, divy restaurant that blew through 100 tickets while we were there for a quick lunch. This little, and I mean little, place has the best burritos I’ve eaten in a long while.
